Tuesday October 26e, 07.30 CEST – Non-regulatory press release

OX2 sold an onshore wind farm with a capacity of 24 MW in the south-east of Poland at Equitix. Construction of the wind farm will begin this year with delivery scheduled for 2024.

The onshore wind farm, consisting of seven wind turbines, will be built in Kraśnik County, Lublin Province. OX2 has been developing the project since purchasing the rights to the project in 2020 and in November of the same year was awarded a 15-year CFD (contract for difference) in the Polish public auction for renewable energy. . OX2 will deliver the wind farm to Equitix once operational under a bespoke EPC contract. Construction will begin this year and the wind farm is expected to be delivered in 2024.

Once commissioned, OX2 will be responsible for the technical and commercial management of the project under a 15-year agreement, optimizing production and overseeing its operations safely.

Total production is estimated at around 79 GWh per year, corresponding to the annual electricity consumption of around 16,000 households (5,000 kWh / household), thus avoiding around 28,000 tonnes of CO.2 fossil fuel emissions per year. The Kraśnik wind farm will support Poland energy transition by increasing the country’s capacity for renewable energies and reducing dependence on electricity production from fossil fuels.

Paul Stormoen, CEO of OX2, said: “I am happy that we have made our first agreement with Equitix and to see the Kraśnik wind farm go under construction. OX2 has become a major player in the Polish renewable energy sector where we continue to increase our presence through a growing organization and portfolio of wind and solar projects. “

Hugh crossley, CEO of Equitix, said: “We are delighted to be able to add the Kraśnik onshore wind farm to our substantial portfolio of renewable energy assets. Equitix is committed to making onshore wind a sustainable energy resource and this investment complements our diverse portfolio of renewable energy production investments that include hydroelectricity, offshore wind, biomass and energy. solar energy.”

Katarzyna Suchcicka, OX2 Country Manager in Poland, noted: “The Kraśnik wind farm is the fourth wind farm project in Poland that OX2 begins construction so far this year. By increasing the country’s renewable energy capacity, we are contributing to the energy transformation underway. This year alone, ten percent of electricity in Poland will be generated from onshore wind farms. “

Information on the wind farm project:

  • 7 Vestas V126-3.45 MW wind turbines with a peak height of 200 meters.
  • Average expected production of around 79 GW per year, equivalent to the electricity consumption of nearly 16,000 households.
  • Estimated year of commissioning: 2024.
  • General contractor: Electrum (foundations, roads, maneuver areas, MV network and internal optical fibers, transformer station, connection to the HV network, EON and ION authorizations).
  • Turbines: Vestas (delivery and assembly of turbines).
  • DLA Piper acted as legal advisor to OX2.
  • EY Corporate Finance acted as financial advisor to OX2.
