Andrew Logan has completed his sculptural cross just in time for St David’s Day and plans to lend the cross to St Davids Cathedral in St Davids, Pembrokeshire.
The sculpture is titled Remember Me and includes Andrew’s eclectic mix of artifacts, many of which were collected on his travels, and has a distinctly Welsh theme, depicting nature and her interpretation of the planet’s treatment of the planet. humanity.
The cross features a resin cast of the green man’s face in its center, surrounded by bronze painted leaves mounted on a mirrored blue and green sun. A blue sun dominates the room with a large clear crystal, and the shaft of the cross is decorated with pieces of varnished mulberry wood from a 400-year-old fallen tree in the Archdeacon’s Garden at St Davids Cathedral Close.

Andrew said: “This sculptural cross project comes with a message for everyone to be aware of, as it deals with man’s contempt for his home planet – Earth. I call it a living organism of the planet and it was inspired by my visit to St Davids.
As soon as travel restrictions allow, the cross will be transported to St Davids for display in the cathedral.
The Right Reverend Sarah Rowland Jones, Dean of St Davids, said: “In giving Andrew the mulberry wood we had no idea he would come back here, and yet what could be more fitting than a cross?
“His glorious conception presents us, dare I say it, with an invitation that is both provocative and often too necessary to look at the cross with fresh eyes, and the redemption he has earned embraces all of creation.
