At Altamont Pass in Alameda County, East Bay Community Energy brings 57 MW of local clean energy online for its customers

The new Scott Haggerty Wind Energy Center houses 23 new 2.5 megawatt turbines that will power more than 47,000 homes in the EBCE District each year
LIVERMORE, Calif., September 27, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Today at Altamont Pass at Livermore, California, East Bay Community Energy (EBCE), one of California most successful community choice power agencies, marked the commercial debut of the Scott Haggerty Wind Energy Center, a re-powered clean energy source for residents of his district spanning 14 cities and Alameda County.
The inauguration is emblematic of what EBCE sees as a new era for inclusive energy. The new facility represents a $ 20 million investment in Alameda County through tax revenues to support utilities and will also support many clean energy jobs in operations and maintenance, after an initial output of over 115,000 hours of union labor.
